Snjezni grasak-Suger Snap- Stampeul 'Norli'-BS1300

Stampeul ‘Norli’ Snjezni grasak-Suger Snap- Stampeul 'Norli'-BS1300- is a fairly small pod and is richly yielding (no support from netting required). It is a well-known and widely cultivated variety. Norli gets a sweeter taste at a somewhat later stage.

There are actually no clear differences between pods and sugar snaps. The term `Sugar Snap´ is used as soon as the pods have grown a little further (the seeds become visible). Height approximately 70 cm. At this later stage there is a clearly sweeter taste. Row distance 50 cm. Crop length approx. 70 cm. A little crop support makes picking easier.

Fresh snow peas, garden peas and capuchin beans are the flavour enhancers of the vegetable garden. Problems with diseases and pests are hardly there and that makes it all the more attractive to grow these crops yourself. You can suffice with little manure. There are two main groups: short with a length of up to approx. 70 cm (stem) and long types (rice types).

The stem types can in principle be grown without support, but cultivation along (short) mesh or with brushwood also has advantages here: picking is considerably easier and there are no pods on the ground.

The rice types must in any case be grown along mesh. When growing along mesh, a row can be sown on both sides of the mesh. A usual row distance for stem types is 50 cm, sow in the row at 5 cm. In connection with mice and birds, sow sufficiently deep (3 to 4 cm).

For all capuchins, peas and pods, early sowing (March/April) produces the best results; sowing in May and later produces insufficient pod setting and problems with mildew.
